InerziaIcon has been developed since first build to help Mac OS X users to keep organized their icons. Its key features are performance and an intuitive interface: anyway, this guide will help you to know better InerziaIcon.

This is the only window of InerziaIcon: from here you can do everything and read everything about your icons.

To start using InerziaIcon, we have to add an icon. There are different ways to do this: you can click on the Add icon button, or drag an icon directly to the icon table. Each method will results in the same thing: InerziaIcon will show the Add icon dialog.
addIcon

1. Name
Here you can insert a name for your icon. InerziaIcon will show it in the table and in the icon infos; moreover you can use it to identify the icon.
2. Author
Here you can insert the icon author: if, for example, the icon is protected by copyright laws, we strongly advise to insert the creator's name. Anyway, if you don't know it, it's possible to leave it blank.
3. Rate
It's possible, just like iTunes, to give a rate (that will be shown as a variable number of stars) to the icon: rates are from 1 ("very bad") to 5 ("amazing").
4. Path
By using the "Choose" button you can locate the icon on your hard disk: the chosen address will be shown in the text field near the button. If, to open the Add dialog, you have dragged an icon on the InerziaIcon main window, this field will be filled automatically.
When you're ready, you can add the icon by clicking on "Add"; it's possible to close the dialog without adding anything, by clicking on "Cancel".

If you inserted wrong informations, you can edit them: to do this, selected the icon you want to edit and click on the Edit icon button. InerziaIcon will open the Edit icon dialog that works just like the Add dialog: when you're read, you can confirm edits by clicking "Apply", or cancel the operation by clicking "Cancel".

With InerziaIcon, you'll be able to organize your icons in library. If, for example, we have different collections, we can create a library for each collection. To add a library, click on the Add library button:
addLibrary

1. Name
This is the only required field: insert a name to identify your library.
By clicking on "OK", the library will be added to the Library table; we can cancel the operation, by clicking "Cancel". By selecting it, we can (in the same way as described above) new icons that will be shown ONLY in the selected library.

Now we have our icons, organized by library. To view an icon, just select it: in the preview area will be shown the icon (max. size 128x128); if you want to view it at full size, just press Space to open the Quick Look window.

If you want to open the icon in the default application, click on the "Open with Finder" button, as shown below:
openWithFinder

All the features listed above are available even as commands from the menu bar. If you have doubts, question or request, contact us, using the link at the end of this page!
